Introducing Madam President and Five Women Who Paved the Way

Introducing Madam President and Five Women Who Paved the Way

Regular price $30.00 Sale

By Nichola Gutgold

This is the book that was set to be on the shelves on November 9, 2017. There was no way a misogynist, narcissist, racist man was going to ascend to the White House. It is feeling like it is about time to take a break from the exhaustion of the daily fight to preserve civil liberties, protect the vulnerable, deter anti-healthcare acts, and defend our environment (just a short break) to imagine what America and the world would look like if we had instead been "Introducing Madam President." For a moment, let's imagine we had a strong, courageous, smart, and compassionate leader.

Madam President tells the story of five pioneering women on both sides of the isle who, despite the prejudices against them, made a bid at the presidency: Margaret Chase Smith, Shirley Anita St. Hill Chisholm, Patricia Scott Schroeder, Elizabeth Hanford Dole, and Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Copies are limited, and proceeds from the sale of this book are going to the non-profit Random Acts of Reading to provide author visits and good books to kids in need, to help reverse the dearth in education that helped put an ignorant man in power.

The pre-election book is available here.
